If you’re anything like me, you drink a lot of tea throughout your week and usually end up just throwing your tea bags (or composting them). But you can get so much more use out of them then just one simple cup of tea! I personally love finding ways to extend the life of the products I already own, in order to consume less, and also to get the most out of what I am paying for!
So instead of tossing your tea bags once your finished with your morning cuppa, try putting them to good use and reap the benefits of your tea topically! Beautifying and detoxing your body from the inside and out. Reusing your tea bags in one of these four ways is such a simple (and refreshing way) to reduce, reuse and recycle your leftover tea!
1. Invigorating Epsom Salt & Tea Bath
Place leftover tea bags in your bath, relax and let all the natural nutrients and goodness soak in through your skin. Let the herbs from your tea invigorate and calm your mind. Add Epsom salts and essential oil of choice for extra detoxification and relaxation.

2. Detoxing Green Tea & Clay Face Mask
Use 1 leftover green tea bag (just the leaves), 2 tbs bentonite (green) clay, 1 tsp jojoba oil (or other oil of choice), and 2 tbs water optional: add 2-3 drops eucalyptus essential oil.
Adjust your clay to water ratio if needed until a nice paste is formed.
Then spread evenly on clean face, neck and décolletage.
Leave on for 5-10 minutes for sensitive skin, or 10-15 minutes for normal skin.
Rinse with warm water and a gentle washcloth, then moisturize.
Your skin will be left purified and detoxified!
(Tip: Do not mix the clay with or in any metals, as this changes the electrical charge of the clay and is not effective. A tight/pulsating effect is normal.)

3. Green Tea Eye Mask
For tired or puffy eyes, place 2 damp used tea bags in the fridge for 10-20 minutes, or until cold. Then place damp cooled tea bags over your eyes for 15-30 minutes to reduce puffiness and dark circles under your eyes. Your eyes will feel so refreshed and alive and this also works great for anti-aging! (caffeinated green tea works best)
4. Lavender Green Tea Sugar Scrub
Use 1 cup granulated sugar (I like to use organic raw cane sugar), 1/3 cup jojoba oil (or other oil of choice), 1-2 leftover green tea bags (just the leaves), lavender essential oil (5-10 drops). Stir together and place in an air tight glass jar. Use in the shower, on your body and hands for subtle, soft and rejuvenated skin.
